Created in honor of the famous champion boxer, the Muhammad Ali Center explores this fighter's life, victories and causes, moving beyond a celebration of boxing into a celebration of acceptance and community. Much of the center focuses on highlights from Muhammad Ali's life, including his childhood and his training, including a unique multimedia presentation featuring film from his career cast onto a replica boxing ring. Other areas highlight some of the poetry and art created both by the champion and in tribute to his accomplishments as well as the history of the country and the world during the time that the boxer was at the peak of his skills. The center is located next to the waterfront in downtown Louisville, near attractions like the Louisville Science Center and the Louisville Slugger Museum.
