Louisville's Thomas Edison House is a small home built in the 1850s which served as Edison's home for about two years, beginning in 1866, during which time he served as a telegraph operator, a central item in many of his later improvements and inventions. The small building now contains a number of antique items related to his work, including an Edison Kinetoscope, which was the original home motion picture projector, and historical phonograph machines. It is located east of downtown, not far from the Louisville Waterfront Park.
